7th-Dec-2009 03:39 pm - It's odd
So the CEO's assistant quit. They FINALLY told the senior staff and us peons in the front row. So now here comes the thing....the position is open but there are 'questions'. As the one girl in finance said "it is odd that after three weeks of her not coming to work she quit...she drops off the face of the earth and then we get notification she is going back to school and acting...no stopping by to say goodbye, no final drinks party nuthin. Something is up."

I can feel it in my bones this isn't the whole story...but I know how much my curiosity can get the better of me.

Quarterly meeting got canked today...boss ain't happy.

We are laying low and saying little if at all.

5th-Dec-2009 12:08 am - All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth...ok and the standard request every year of a pair of skates and someone to show me how to hold a damned F chord properly on my guitar.

I read on a friend's journal that he didn't want anyone buying him gifts this year and would rather have them give to a charity in his name.

I added:

I so totally agree wholeheartedly. This time of year everyone worries about giving a gift, the right gift or whatever. I so want people to think of how to help out everyone else, the salvation army kettle gets pennies from me I carry a whole pocketful this time of year, dropping off toys that we will NEVER play with (despite my hubby's thought on it) to the toys for tots campaign, giving coats for winter for people whose only thought during the day is how they will make it through the night to see the next day.
And with all the holiday cheer...cheer up someone else it makes my day in so many ways. And you don't need to mention anyone's name just do something good, trust me it comes back in ways you will NEVER imagine!

Oh and Santa I have been asking for skates for 38 years now...yes I have been counting and no I fully expect not to get them(and for you folks out there who would get them for me because..please don't)....I just keep asking cuz the little girl in me keeps nudging.

And I did get the teeth...when I was 4.

Give a little to help a lot!

In honor of National AIDS Awareness month, we've added a new charitable vgift. For each red ribbon you purchase for $2.99, we'll donate 100 percent of gross proceeds to IAVI.org (the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) to support the development and global distribution of an affordable HIV vaccine (we'll cover credit card fees). You can read more about IAVI at [info]lj_cares. While we're on the subject, we raised $740 from our November fundraiser for Love Without Boundaries, which supports emergency healthcare and adoption of Chinese orphans. We thank you for helping us help others.

Photos of the week

We're back with more incredible pictures from our super-talented LiveJournal photographers. Congratulations to [info]ilya_gorokhov, who is the winner of our very first [info]lj_photophile poll.

We hope you'll continue to post, vote, and comment! A gentle request: Please post only one photo at a time and limit size to 350x350 (so images display properly on friends pages). And now, without further ado, get ready to cast your ballot and view more awesome user content after the jump!

I am ramping up for Christmas this year cautiously. We are putting a note in our Christmas cards the ones I didn't send last year because I was so depressed.

so this year we decided to add a note to tell people we didn't drop off the face of the earth and things are ok.

Surprisingly it isn't that hard to write.

I do write well at times...just wish the flash of inspiration would come at a fast clip.
